Our custom developed Food Grade Medium-Density 80mil Polyethylene (MDPE) is the most widely used Food Grade geomembrane in Canada, and is the preferred product for lining projects with direct food contact where federal legislation requires an official certification. MDPE is used primarily for lining large Tanks and Reservoirs.
Advantages of MDPE
- It is the most chemically resistant member of the polyethylene family due to its dense configuration.
- MDPE is field welded with hot wedge welders and extrusion welders. These factory quality welds are virtually stronger than the sheet itself.

Food Grade MDPE is less flexible than LLDPE but gives a higher specific strength. It can also withstand higher temperatures and has exceptional chemical and ultraviolet resistance properties, which makes it an extremely cost-effective product. MDPE is a very technical product to work with and requires specialized welding equipment and certified welding technicians to be installed properly. Titan's Food Grade MDPE geomembranes are available only in smooth and come in roll stocks with varying thicknesses ranging from 80 to 120mil depending on your requirements. We also have a full complement of ridged thick Poly Plate which we can weld and integrate to create whatever configuration your project requires.
